Welcome!

My friend Matt had organized a trip across the United States for a new business of his. I was headed out with him but the trip failed miserably after only making it to Idaho. I was going to keep this blog of our national tour (hence the name) but now I just update it with stuff I've been doing.

Party in the parking lot!

Did you know that at most Wal Mart stores they allow you to stay overnight in the parking lot? Its a pretty interesting place filled with some pretty interesting people.

Last night we met Jesse, who is in town to caddy for the PGA Nationwide tour. He was pretty cool and he introduced us to some of the more "interesting" people in the parking lot. There was a trio made up of two guys age 24 and 21 and their 38 year old girlfriend. Yeah thats right, they shared a girlfriend and the three of them lived in a van. Another interesting character was Richard, the 41 year old disabled Desert Storm vet who claimed he could squat 850 lbs in high school.

Boise State University

I've been at Boise State since Monday checking out campus. Its actually a pretty nice place and there is even a river running right next to it. I took a tour the other day and got to check out Bronco Stadium, home of Legarette Blount's shining moment. Theres not much to say so here are a bunch of pictures.

Seattle... Lights out... Pendleton Round Up.

I got to the Seattle area late Saturday afternoon just in time to catch the Ducks game at Matt's house. Alex and Rob joined us and we polished off several pizzas and a case of beer. The night was still young however. We rolled
down to the University of Washington campus and met up with some rowdy dudes and my cousin Marshall. After several hours of drunken mayhem involving beers, zombies, blood diamonds and gyros, I finally crawled into bed (couch/floor) around 4:30 AM. This led to us hitting the road several hours later than we had hoped which of course led to some complications.

Sunday night we were cruising down I-84 in "The Monstrosity" when we noticed the headlights went out. No problem, we simply drove the next nine miles down the freeway with only our hazard lights on. We had to stop in Pendleton for the evening at the Wal Mart parking lot which was full of RVs since the PBA tour and the Round Up were going on this week. We haven't fixed the lights yet but we did wander around Pendleton and saw some weird shit. In my book that counts as a win. Unfortunately our stay was brief since we left immediately at sunrise.

The weeks ahead

I'm heading up to the Seattle area on Saturday September 11th to meet up with my friend Matt and get this trip started. Our first stop is Boise, Idaho which we will be getting into some time Sunday. After we leave Boise on Friday we are heading straight to Boulder, Colorado to try and hit up the CU vs Hawaii football game. Matt is a UH alum so we are definitely trying to get into that game. And with Colorado joining the Pac 10, it is my responsibility to show them how we party.

After we leave Colorado the next stop is Iowa City, Iowa. The only thing I know about Iowa is that they have cornfields and you can bring your own alcohol to strip clubs. After that we hit up Madison, Wisconsin which sounds like a pretty fun place.

This is how I roll...

Here is the RV I'm gonna be living in for the next 2 months. Its 27 feet long. Theres not much else to say about it so heres some pics.

Oregon vs Tennessee tomorrow

The only preseason Ducks game takes place tomorrow. Oh, yeah they played New Mexico and have Portland State coming up but they are both awful. Oregon is the favorite against a rebuilding but well coached Tennessee team. I don't know too much about head coach Derek Dooley, but D coordinator Justin Wilcox is a defensive wizard. He spent the last four years in the same position at Boise State including the smothering of the Ducks last year on the smurf turf. Wilcox knows the Ducks well, having played for them in the 90's

I wish I was going to the game. Neyland Stadium looks pretty amazing and I've been hearing about the game day environment all week. In addition to Wilcox, former Duck and NFL player and graduate assistant (09') Peter Sirmon has joined the Vols staff as a GA.

College Football is back... Ducks kill Lobos

Last Saturday I got my first taste of Oregon Ducks football this season. Unfortunately it will also be my only taste until the home finale November 26th vs Arizona. I was hoping to check out PK Park but I got to the game hella late due to traffic on I-5.

As you all know, the game was an ass whooping. 72-0 and it could've easily been more. New Mexico is a JV team. From the opening kick it was one of the least intriguing matchups I've seen.
